The Sons of Lugh is a Living History group in the Brandon (Manitoba, Canada) area.

Group picture

We portray the Norse (Vikings) from approximately 850 to 950 AD.

Our group persona is that of a group of Irish Sea pirates

We aim to teach and learn historically acurate skills, including both household skills and those of battle. Our primary reason for getting together is to increase our skills and prepare for events that we do Reenacting at.

We learn to safely use real, blunted weapons in rebated steel combat sessions, as well as learn many of the vital crafts of the day, including but not limited to:
Tablet weaving,
woodworking,
armor and weapon crafting,
cooking,
sewing and patternmaking,
leatherworking,
tentmaking,
as well as any other related skill that catches our interests.

We currently meet about 20 miles south of Brandon, virtually every Sunday.
